Dear Sir,
At the start of the rainy season, we experienced multiple power outages, each averaging about 14 hours. In response, a petition expressing our concerns was submitted to the CFE electric utility.
Since then, we have had plenty of rain and wind, yet the power has stayed on. Perhaps our petition was heard, or perhaps efforts to improve the grid’s reliability were already underway. Whatever the reason, the improvement is noticeable and appreciated.
As a signatory to that petition, I’m pleased to say thank you.
Thank you to the hardworking CFE employees who brave the elements to restore power. Thank you to the company providing the equipment and resources that help keep the electricity flowing during inclement weather. And thank you to everyone doing their best to meet the growing demand placed on an already overtaxed grid.
This problem is not unique to our community. It is happening around the world, particularly in places people want to live, work, and visit. Keeping up with increasing demand while maintaining aging infrastructure is no small task.
So, speaking for myself, and I suspect for others as well, I want to acknowledge the effort, recognize the improvement, and express our appreciation. I hope a simple thank you reaches those working out in the rain and wind, risking their safety and sacrificing their comfort to keep our lights on. And I hope it reaches the company making the equipment and resources available to support that work.
The struggle is real. And the effort is appreciated.

Dear Sir,
U.S. citizen voters here in Mexico can once again donate to Democratic candidates and more with ActBlue. It’s the easiest way to support candidates and causes you believe in during U.S. midterm elections happening right now.
This is especially important given the massive contributions from Elon Musk and other billionaire donors to Republicans.
What just changed? ActBlue, the leading fundraising platform for Democratic candidates and democratic causes, updated their passport verification tools. This is a big deal for all of us here in Mexico.
Bottom line: Make your contributions this week! Democratic candidates and causes need your support big time. “Google” your favorite Democratic candidates, including James Talarico in Texas. Then contribute on candidate websites with ActBlue. Or visit www.democratsabroad.org/mx_lc_donate to contribute locally.
Thanks to all U.S. citizens for contributing and voting!
