Neighbors instrumental in dog shelter relocation

While supporters of SOS Chapala Dog Rescue lament the municipal government’s initiative to abandon the canine shelter the group has operated for the last two years, neighbors of the La Canacinta site view the opening of an alternative refuge as a long-awaited blessing. 


SOS Dog Rescue takes issue with shelter relocation

SOS Chapala Dog Rescue, a local NGO dedicated to saving and finding permanent homes for  abused and abandoned canines, has explained why it has serious reservations about the local government’s plans to relocate the dog shelter that has operated on the west end of Ajijic since July 2020.

West end Ajijic well is equipped & pumping

A new well has been up and running in Ajijic since the end of last week. A video posted on Mayor Alejandro Aguirre’s Facebook site shows him accompanied by personnel from the Simapa utility opening the valve of the pump that will distribute water supplies to residential and commercial addresses located at the western extremes of the town, in the vicinity of in La Canacinta, El Bajio and La Cristina.
