A new venue, more music, an upgraded menu and fireworks are putting Democrats Abroad Chapala’s 2026 Fourth of July Party on many must-attend lists this season.
The festivities kick off Saturday, July 4, at 4:30 p.m. at the beautiful Jardín Cerro Colorado Eventos in West Ajijic. Everyone is welcome to celebrate with live music, good food and great company at this non-partisan extravaganza.
The centerpiece is a live concert spotlighting the music of the Beach Boys, whisking audiences back to the sounds of the 1960s, ‘70s and ‘80s. The performers are veterans of Concerts in the Park, where they have previously taken the stage as Freddie Mercury and Tom Jones. “Ten hugely generous sponsors are making the live concert and so much more possible,” says DA’s Terry Rosson.
Dinner choices include an open-grill BBQ or a vegetarian option, both served with dessert — plenty of fuel for an afternoon and evening on the dance floor.
“We’re really hoping to bring people together,” said Larry Pihl, Fourth of July 2026 Committee Co-Chair. “Personally, I’m excited about the fireworks and pulled pork sandwiches.”
All nationalities are welcome. Under U.S. Federal Election Commission rules, Democrats Abroad cannot accept payment from non-U.S. sources, so American citizens are encouraged to bring their non-U.S. friends along as guests.
