Governor Pablo Lemus has unveiled a comprehensive plan to cement Jalisco’s status as a premier aviation hub.
This week, Lemus joined executives of discount airline Volaris for the announcement of a major route expansion for the 2026 World Cup, and a US$18 million investment in a new maintenance base at the Guadalajara International Airport.
To fuel this growth, the state will also build its first aeronautical university in partnership with the University of Guadalajara (UdeG).
Volaris’s new maintenance base will be constructed on a terrain of over 150,000 square meters, with construction slated to begin on March 1.
