Lake Chapala’s rising waters and heavy wave action churned up during summer storms have caused severe deterioration in a section of the retaining wall at the Ajijic Malecón.
The municipal government assigned a work crew to shore up the damaged wall this week.
This is not the first year that portions of the wall made up of sandbags and stone facing have succumbed to the forces of Mother Nature.
