A devastating multi-vehicle accident on the Guadalajara-Tepic autopista (toll road) on Sunday, July 12 resulted in ten fatalities and left ten others injured, according to authorities in Jalisco and Nayarit. The incident occurred at kilometer 69, near the municipality of Magdalena, Jalisco, close to the Plan de Barrancas toll booth.

A proposal before the Jalisco Congress would make road safety education mandatory from primary through high school, with two hours of instruction per month.
