Chapala honors outstanding women
As part of a week-long agenda of special events scheduled in commemoration of International Women’s Day, Chapala’s DIF family development agency and the Municipal Historical Archives put together Women Who Made History, a tribute to 20 individuals, living and dead, recognized for their outstanding contributions to the community. The honor roll included three distinguished expatriates who left their own indelible marks at lakeside.
Four foreign residents of the El Dorado condominium complex are facing criminal charges for fraud lodged against them by the owners of one of the residential villas situated on the grounds.
When the ladies gather at the Chapala Country Club at Vista del Lago on March 9 for Ajijic Rotary Club’s 2013 International Women’s Golf Classic they’ll be excited to meet well-known Mexican professionals Shanti Granada and Alejandra Martin del Campo.
Smack in the middle of the Guadalajara’s International Film Festival, Ajijic became the stage for a cinematic coup with the Mexico premiere of “16 Acres,” the newly released documentary tracing the thorny reconstruction of New York’s World Trade Center (WTC) following the devastating terrorist attack of September 11, 2001.
