INM assigns new staff to Chapala immigration office
Jalisco immigration chief Ricardo Vera Lira this week named a new head officer for Chapala INM services in the first major staff shake-up since the permanent lakeside branch office opened its doors in April 2011.
Gloria Judith Maldonado Rojas, glamorous Jalisco delegate for the federal Ministry of Social Development (Sedesol), was greeted by a full house of women and children when she arrived at Chapala’s DIF family service center on Wednesday, August 28.
Lakeside community leaders who were invited to attend a luncheon with Governor Aristoteles Sandoval during his August 8 visit took advantage of the occasion to do more than casual glad-handing with the state’s chief executive. They turned it into an opportunity to bend the ear of members of Sandoval’s cabinet, soliciting top-level attention to a variety of pressing local issues.
Ricardo Vera Lira, the newly appointed Guadalajara delegate of the Instituto Nacional de Migracion (INM), was formally introduced to the lakeside community at a public meeting held Thursday, August 22 at the campus of the Instituto Terranova.
Chapala’s Simapa water and sewage service agency is under new management with the designation of Timoteo Aldana Perez as general director.
