The Chapala government is continuing street improvement projects in Ajijic, with a work crew dispatched this week to begin rehabilitation of Calle Ocampo, the western leg of the only thoroughfare that runs uninterrupted end-to-end across the village.

An intense storm drenched Jocotepec on Monday, October 3, causing major flooding along Calle Morelos, a principal thoroughfare that runs across town from the municipal market to the east end neighborhood of Nextipac. A number of cars and trucks were left stranded after being engulfed by the deluge.

In celebration of her 100th birthday Tuesday, October 3, Ajijic matriarch Francisca Rochín Carranza was wrapped in the loving embrace of her extended family to be honored with a thanksgiving mass at the San Andrés church and luncheon party that followed.
