Jalisco teachers dominate Guadalajara May Day marches

A column of independent workers and activists marched through Guadalajara on Día del Trabajo, May 1.

The banner at the forefront read, “Por la dignidad de la clase trabajadora” (For the dignity of the working class), alongside a slogan famously articulated by Vladimir Lenin — “Paz, Pan y Tierra” (Peace, Bread and Land).

Dirty water is causing skin infections in metro area, medics insist

The water crisis in Guadalajara’s metropolitan area is causing serious health issues, with numerous residents reporting skin problems after using tap water from the local utility, SIAPA. Reports suggest the water is not only discolored and foul-smelling but also causes physical reactions like irritation, rashes and severe dermatitis.
