In a highly unusual move, the Lake Chapala Society board of directors announced last week that its next meeting would take place entirely behind closed doors. 

Chapala Sunrise Rotary held a festive Installation Gala on Thursday, July 2, welcoming its new president, Erika Alamos López, and her governance board, while celebrating a hugely successful year of community service at lakeside.

Home to the world’s largest expatriate community, the Ribera de Chapala offered the perfect setting for U.S. citizens and international friends to celebrate the 250th anniversary of American independence together.
