There’s a jewel in the center of Jocotepec that is unknown to many Lake Chapala area expats.  

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, but photographic images only hint at the commotion that occurs when 10,000 pilgrims congregate in Chapala to manifest spiritual allegiance with La Virgen de Zapopan.

While Mother Nature is busy doing her bit to replenish Lake Chapala, thousands of devout Roman Catholics will converge at the shoreline Sunday, July 10 to welcome Mother Mary and raise prayers for rainy season bounty.
