Catholic Church passes the hat
Not for the first time, the Catholic archdiocese of Guadalajara is to launch an “intense” fundraising campaign to collect money to move forward construction of the ambitious Santuario de los Martires (Martyrs’ Sanctuary) in the Cerro de Cuatro barrio on the southern outskirts of the city.
Making his third visit to Guadalajara in two months, President Enrique Peña Nieto Tuesday opened the Agua Prieta wastewater treatment plant, the largest of its kind in Mexico and the second largest in Latin America.
The Parque Metropolitano on the western outskirts of the Guadalajara metro area is to allocate a sizable chunk of its grounds as a dedicated playground for dogs.
